PokerStars.com Makes Changes in VIP and Rewards Programs

pokerstars-echeck-depositsPlayers at PokerStars.com and those that have considered trying out the site, but haven’t yet should be aware of some big changes in the VIP program as of January 1, 2010. These changes translate to more cash in hand, especially for tournament players. The VPP program will award points faster, particularly for tournaments, whether scheduled or sit-n-go. Players will get SilverStar status at 750 VPPs instead of 1200 VPPs, a huge improvement for players. Likewise, players wishing to maintain Supernova status will only need to earn 7500 VPPs per month, down from 10,000 VPPs previously. Supernovas will also be given free seats in million dollar quarterly tournaments! This will replace the previous $75,000 weekly tournaments. GoldStars and PlatinumStars will be able to win seats via FPP satellites.
PokerStars.com will also be setting up a Stellar Rewards system which will give players rakeback rewards of up to 6% per year. American players wishing to take advantage of PokerStars.com’s new rewards program or just to join one of the better known sites can deposit in a number of great ways:
Instant eChecks are probably the best way to deposit at PokerStars.com, since they can also be used for withdrawals. To use an instant eCheck, you’ll need to fill in the information that appears on the bottom of your check, and then you’ll be able to fill in a cash amount. Your bank will honor it just like a real check, and you can begin playing immediately. You won’t be able to cash out until the check clears, though.
Other deposit options include Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, Money Order, and Cashier’s Check. None of these can be used for cashing out though. The only method for cashing out in these cases is check.
