Full Tilt Statement On Echeck Deposits And Withdrawing
This is all happening so fast it’s almost impossible to keep up. Bottom line is it seems that over $30,000,000 in funds that US poker players had cashed out from Full Tilt and Poker Stars has been frozen, resulting in a chaos that resulted in both echecks going down across all sites (Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet are now accepting them again) simultaneously with the frozen accounts leading to a bunch of rejected and bounced cashout checks at Full Tilt and Stars. The following is Full Tilt’s official statement:
“In light of recent events involving freezing of certain poker players’ money in the United States of America, Full Tilt Poker would like to assure all players that their funds remain safe and secure. Processing of both deposit and withdrawal requests is proceeding as normal and is still available to all of our players in the US.
The issue involving the freezing of some funds affected only one of the many check processors that Full Tilt Poker uses to support player withdrawals. We do not expect any further interruption in check withdrawals or any other withdrawal methods, and any player who wishes to make a withdrawal should expect normal processing times. All players who were affected by the current situation have had their funds returned to their Full Tilt Poker accounts and all new withdrawal requests are processing normally.
We assure all of the players on Full Tilt Poker that your online playing experience will not change and that you will be able to both deposit and withdraw funds as needed. Your money remains safe, secure and always accessible at all times. Full Tilt Poker remains committed to the protection of our players’ security and legal rights, and will continue to provide the best – and safest – online poker room available worldwide.”
At least FullTilt released a statement about this, I wish Stars would have also issued a statement but it’s possible they still will or feel they cannot due to some legal situation. We are still pretty much in the dark on this issue industry wide, the best advice we can currently offer is to check back often for real time updating to this US poker deposit situation. Full Tilt reps also posted the following on 2p2 forums, as players are a bit freaked out with the whole situation.
“Understandably, many of you have concerns regarding certain bank accounts with poker players’ money being frozen in the US, and I’d just like to reassure everyone that your funds remain safe and secure at FTP, and the processing of withdrawal requests is proceeding as normal and is still available to all of our players. I’ve been gathering information on our side to address some of the rumors and conjecture that have been flying around, and here’s what I know:
• We have multiple check processors. Only one processor was affected by the current situation, and we don’t expect any further interruption in check withdrawals or any other withdrawal methods.
• All players who were affected by this issue have had their money returned to their Full Tilt Poker account and all withdrawals are processing normally.
• We always make sure we can cash out any of our players at any time. You should never have to worry that you won’t get your money, and we’re doing everything we can to ensure you always have plenty of methods available for both deposits and withdrawals.
• eCheck deposits are temporarily unavailable, but we expect it to return as a deposit option sometime this week or next.
• I’m not sure where this particular rumor started, but there are absolutely no plans to leave any market.
If you have any questions, or would like to know if there are more deposit or withdrawal options available that haven’t appeared in your cashier, please contact support and they will be happy to help you out.”
Hopefully we can some clarity to the situation soon, the US poker market is a large percentage of online players worldwide, and situations like this lead to less than desirable games.
